Judging a Book by its Cover

I know I am not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I find that awfully Logodifficult when I’m in a bookstore and oftentimes all I have to go by is my aesthetic taste.  When I stumbled across this blog over the weekend, I felt I had found camaraderie in my love of well-designed books.  Book By Its Cover is a blog by Julia Rothman (an uber-talented designer herself) that groups well-considered books by category.

In the children’s book category, my personal favorites are When You Were Small by Sara O’Leary and Julie Morstad, Mocking Birdies by Annette Simon, and Ellington Was Not a Street by Ntozake Shange and Kadir Nelson.

So now go read, or fold, punch, sew and bind…whichever strikes your fancy!
