Ready to Take on the Uglydolls

As you know, GoodyBlog has some beef with the Uglydolls. It’s a love-hate relationship. But check out these new Uglydoll-ish creations from Monster Factory (via Coochicoos)… don’t they look like little hipster monsters? I love the idea that Ugly can be Cute and Monsters can be Lovable. The company has brilliant designs and lots of adorable characters—check out the entire family below. Plus, you can watch an awesome music video that they made, starring one of their plush-dolls, over at Notcot.

Is it terrible that I bought a Colin (the one in the red hoodie) for my nephew, but have regretted it ever since?
The child clearly doesn’t appreciate him, and I clearly should have skipped the subterfuge and bought it for myself.

Next! They don’t have half the charm of the Ugly Dolls.
I like how independent lines like Ugly Dolls finally give us a nice alternative to Barbie and hipster bloggers jump on the “bash anything popular” bandwagon.

I did not realize your beef was a cute bout with mascots.
I stand corrected! Still, those hipsters better quit it.
